OPEN ACCESS

Openness inspires reorganization.

Publishing your research as open access enables you to enjoy numerous benefits. Firstly, it allows for higher and faster visibility as open access articles are viewed globally and are available to everyone. Secondly, there is a wider impact on existing research, as permissive licenses like CC BY empower scientists and scholars to make progress and facilitate the generation of new data. Thirdly, open access articles have been shown to be regarded and cited more often than established journals. Additionally, such articles are hosted on dedicated servers and are accessible to everyone endlessly, thus ensuring perpetual accessibility.

Furthermore, an increasing number of funding bodies and agencies require their grant holders to publish their research as open access articles to be comprehensively available, free, and without restrictions on reuse.

In summary, an open access publication meets two principles. Firstly, the authors and copyright holders grant free and perpetual access to the work to all users with licensing that allows for copying, distribution, and display of derived works for any responsible purpose. Secondly, a complete version of the work and all supplemental materials must be deposited immediately upon initial publication in at least one online repository with well-established organizations that seek to enable unrestricted distribution, interoperability, and long-term archiving.

NexusJournals has chosen to apply the Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commercial 4.0 International License to all manuscripts published under its name, which allows others to remix and build upon the work for non-commercial purposes while attributing the source.
